With a strong love and passion for dance and fluid movement, Catherine Flournoy found herself driven by a calling to love and serve. In her spare time, Catherine would volunteer for various organizations, including the hematology oncology unit at the Children's Hospital Los Angeles and for the Heart Touch Project, a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing the gift of healing touch to hospitalized individuals. Upon her introduction to hoopdance, a movement that incorporates organic dance and is naturally meditative, combined with the essence of the childhood phenomenon of hula hooping, Catherine immediately knew she had discovered a movement that would give the course of her life more purpose.

Through hoopdancing, Catherine found that doors were starting to open naturally for her, allowing her to enjoy her greatest passions by combining the healing arts with her love for dance. In just a few short months of hooping, by early 2006 Catherine was given the opportunity to teach a hoop class for the Panurgy Dance Project, instructing a team of professional dancers on the art of hooping. This was the genesis of a complete holistic hoopdance service that would not only transform her life, but would soon transform the lives of countless others. Catherine is able to be of service in a unique, fun loving way. Hoopadelic was born.

Catherine continues to draw upon her skills as an intuitive healer, nurturer and bodyworker. She draws upon her spiritual upbringing of Buddhism, Christ Consciousness and the religion of Love to offer everyone a complete heart-to-heart service. Hoopdancing is one of Catherine's connection to the Divine Source within and shares this gift of dance with anyone who is inspired to tap into it. Catherine teaches classes, choreographs, performs and has worked in television and was featured in a segment of ABC’s Good Morning America.

Catherine is a certified Rising Star and Prema Birthing Practitioner, as well as a Certified Domestic Violence Counselor through Asian Pacific Women's Center (APWC). In addition, Catherine is a licensed Massage and Bodywork Therapist and former member of the Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals. She is fluent in Mandarin and uses this skill to bring hooping to the East Asian community of Los Angeles.
